To the FRVC Girls Volleyball Family:

Since the close of the season, there have been some significant coaching developments.  As you know Coach Hernandez has decided to cut back on his coaching commitments to dedicate more time to his career and other pursuits and therefore will not be returning to FRVC next year.

 

Additionally, Coach Hosenfeld has decided that he was getting spread too thin with High School, Extreme and FRVC.  Plus, more excitedly, he and Julie are expecting another child so he needs to spend some quality time at home.  Therefore, he also will not be returning to FRVC next year.

 

Throughout these past few months, we have been working to identify qualified, proven coaches to take over the team responsibilities.  What we have found through our discussions with local colleges, current high school coaches, and various clubs is that with the amount of established girls clubs in the region (Extreme, VolleyFx, Paradigm, Impact) quality coaches are already committed to other clubs.   We believe that a proven coach is imperative at this stage of the player’s development.

 

With that being said, we have decided that there will be no girls’ tournament volleyball program through FRVC this season.

 

While we are disappointed that we could not offer a tournament team program, we know there are several quality, established clubs in the region to choose from.  Since the tryout season begins in early September, we knew we had to make our decision early to allow families the time to research what options work best for their situation.

 

However, we are still exploring the possibility of a skills-based program like we had last year.  That decision will be made sometime in October and communicated accordingly.  We will also post information on the website.
